ATISA XI Conference - Travel Information
The 2026 ATISA conference will be held on the SUNY New Paltz campus.
Located outside of New York City, conference participants have several options to travel to New Paltz, with several different ways to get around once there!
Getting There
By Plane
There are several airports in the New York-NJ area. The closest airport is Stewart Airport, NY. Participants can also fly into the larger JFK, Newark and LaGuardia airports that are located in the NY metro area.
Stewart Airport
Stewart Airport is the closest international and national airport (in Newburgh, NY). Car hire is available at the airport. https://www.swfny.com/
LaGuardia (LGA), Newark, JFK Airports
A number of international flights fly into JFK, Newark, and LaGuardia. Participants who travel to these airports in New York City can take several modes of public transportation to Manhattan to transfer to a bus or train to the New Paltz area.
There is a direct bus from Port Authority Bus Station in NYC to New Paltz, or there is a Metro-North train from Grand Central Station to Poughkeepsie (then taxi or Uber to New Paltz). Total travel time (train or bus) between these airports and New Paltz is approximately 2.5-3 hours.

New Paltz is located off exit 18, US-87. Follow signs for campus (about 5 mins).
Parking is available on campus and by guest permit.

Getting Around
New Paltz, NY, is located in the Hudson Valley, approximately 100 miles north of Manhattan, NY.
There is a direct bus service (approx. 2 hours) from Port Authority Bus Station in NYC to New Paltz. The bus station is near hotels and near campus.
The closest Metro-North station is Poughkeepsie (1.5 hours from Grand Central Station). Taxis and Uber services are available at Poughkeepsie (20 mins). There is a bus service from Poughkeepsie train station to campus and back: https://ucat.ulstercountyny.gov/routes/upl/

This is a 20-25 min walk to campus.
There are a number of hotels in Poughkeepsie.
There are also plenty of AirBnB options, but a car is probably required.
